So... I have this dilemma. I am in a slight pickle, or was a few weeks ago, and needed somewhere to confess (besides my Bishop's office... he does care but not that much to effect my eternal salvation or anything, right?) and thought the blog would be a great place to do this.
I detest reality TV. With a passion not unlike the furry of my enraged mother when she didn't have her alone time after we went to bed growing up. Now that was fierce (love you mom!).
Who were the geniuses who dubbed reality TV as actual "reality" anyways? I don't really want to research it, but there is an official site for all of you Reality TV addicts out there to catch up on your latest shows. I hate seeing sleezy girls and guys at each other's throats in fights or living questionable lives on television to win $5 gagillion, or seeing today's up-and-coming compete for the latest title of whatever. I just don't like reality TV.
So, imagine my dismay when, after I watched my first-ever episode of The Bachelorette this summer and instantly loved it?!?! Granted, I didn't watch every epsiode of the 6-week "reality" show, but I was pretty close.
Last week was the season finale, and it's taken me the past 9 days to recover from my utter shock of DeAnna choosing Jesse over Jason. Lame, huh? That I was so engrossed that I really cared which bachelor she chose. Oh well
They are both great guys and Jesse has grown on me. I hope that they won't fall into mainstream America's trend of divorce or not following through on their engagement, but whatever. It's done. I'm not them and they're not me, right?
So, reality TV. I still am not a fan, but I will try to not be so blatantly opposed to things in the future unless I either give them a try or just not speak my mind. Which, if you know me, is hard not to do. :)
Thanks for reading!

I'm with you! I don't normally watch reality shows. But when DeAnna didn't pick Jason, I was shocked! I'm glad we had the same feeling!
I know for a fact that you watch America's next top model! In fact I think the first time I ever saw an episode was when you were having an all day marathon with your roommates at the house on the boulevard. But I agree with the feeling that reality tv is not reality.
This is a great post! This weekend I wanted to watch something that wasn't reality tv but was out of luck! I only watched the season finale of the bachelor but I was sad she didn't pick Jason too. I hate the shows like big brother and such. But I confess to loving things like So You Think You Can Dance? and other such shows. But can't we just have an old fashioned sitcom already?
That's a lot. We don't have any pictures yet. You can see some at http://joekenzie.blogspot.com/ And I think this post is long enough! Let me know when you are in town! You have to come see my house!!!
Amy! :) I do love a good Tyra tyrant once in a while, but I don't think I've watched Top Model since that great summer week at the Boulevard House. It was great, though! :)
Mike and I are totally suckers and addicts for the "REAL DEAL". We can't agree on movies- all the action and suspense just gives me anxiety. We always have the tube on and reality seems to dominate all channels, so it seems to be the only option. After we do get sucked in and happen to miss a new one, thank heavens for webisodes and DVR or we'd be so lost.
So, seeing EVERY episode, always getting together with friends for it too, of course, I was totally rooting for Jesse. Now we just need to nominate Jason for the next bachelor and we can all watch him fall in love again and our sympathy for him will just real us in even more. It's such a vicious cycle.
Excuse me. I do not recall having furry or fury. Probably more like a Great annoyance. But, I do recall making the statement (actually writing it and posting on the boys door as a gentle reminder) that "Hell hath no fury like a mother ignored". However, my 'fury' is but a light spring breeze compared to what most would think of when considering FURY....
and that's all I gots to say.
